MANUFACTURED HOUSING INSTALLATION PROGRAM INSPECTOR
Inspection and verification of compliance
PSI's HUD/FHA manufactured housing installation inspectors primary goal is to ensure that the manufactured home has been properly installed in accordance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as manufacturers recommendations. Our inspectors must provide verification of the installation in writing to the installer. Our goal is to complete Inspections within 7 days, most of the time we are able to schedule 309 Inspections within a day or two of the order being placed.
The inspection elements as listed in 24 CFR 3286.505 are as follows:
Site location with respect to home design and construction
Consideration of site-specific conditions
Site preparation and grading for drainage
Foundation construction
Anchorage
Installation of optional features
Completion of ductwork, plumbing, and fuel supply systems
Electrical systems
Exterior and interior close-up
Skirting, if installed
Completion of operational checks and adjustments
Additionally, your PSI Inspector will perform the following checks to complete the installation verification:
Check the Data Plate to verify correct DAPIA approved manufacturer installation instructions have been provided and used for the installation.
Check the Data Plate to confirm the home is appropriate for the wind, thermal, and roof load zone in which the home is installed.
